The Savvy Group, owners of The Richmond Hotel in Liverpool and The Townhouse Hotel in Chester have been working tirelessly in recent months to ensure their businesses can weather the current COVID-19 pandemic. The business which employs 72 people has managed to survive thanks to CEO Steven Hesketh and his staff doing all they can to keep the business trading.
Following the announcement that Liverpool was to enter tier 3 restrictions the Savvy group seen a drop of in excess of £15k worth of sales just overnight when first announced. The Townhouse Chester was hit hard as travel restrictions on the Liverpool City Region added with Welsh boarder restrictions has meant a dramatic decrease in visitors to Chester. However, the hotel continues to trade and has recently announced some amazing deals that they hope will appeal to local people who can still use the hotels as ‘a mini getaway’.
The Townhouse in Chester has seen investment of £30,000 plus to not only make the whole hotel completely COVID safe but they have also revamped and re-opened The Secret Garden, an outside space that is tucked away behind the hotel in former storage space. The Secret Garden has had rave reviews since it opened at the end of August and is now set to be fully winterised in mid-November so people can continue to enjoy the beautiful outdoor space while respecting social distancing and keeping warm.
CEO Steven Hesketh; “Since this pandemic hit we have had to constantly review and adapt our whole business, my priority is to keep as many people in employment as possible, but this has already since March seen in excess of 40 staff depart to save the business. We hope the new packages we have put together mean our hotels can continue to trade and local people will consider us when a special celebration comes up or just to have a mini break to get away from it all.”
You can now enjoy a romantic overnight stay at The Richmond which includes a bottle of wine on arrival, 3 course meal for 2 in the brasserie restaurant and full English breakfast at just £99 for two people Sunday – Thursday (Friday £109, Saturday £129). The ever-popular gin afternoon tea is also on offer at £25 for two people.
It is hoped that local people will continue to support the businesses as they have over the last few months.
